Dare to Don Julio at Café en Seine runs from Friday 28th October to Sunday 30th October

If 'fun' rather than 'scary' is your Halloween vibe, then check out the ‘Dare to Don Julio’ event at Café en Seine over the October bank holiday weekend. The Dublin city centre venue will be transformed into a ‘Dia de los muertos’ (Day of the Dead) with Mexican bites, a Don Julio Margarita menu, and music with Resident Skeleton DJ Eerie at his vintage piano.
Guests can enjoy a selection of appetising Mexican small plates such as tacos and tostadas paired with exclusive Don Julio cocktails at the pop-up margarita bar. The bespoke menu of specially created cocktails will be available all weekend, including Tommy’s Margarita, the Don Margarita, a Passionfruit Margarita, a Blood Orange Paloma, a Don Limona and a non-alcoholic Margarita made with Seedlip Grove.
Of course, one of the best things about this party is the chance to ‘don’ a fun themed outfit! Traditionally people wear costumes during the celebration because it is believed that seeing someone dressed-up helps to remind them not to take themselves too seriously.
‘Dia de los muertos’ attire includes long, flowery dresses and flowery headpieces for women while the men wear black hats, or even skeleton costumes! So why not ditch the witch outfit, and get dolled up with colourful outfits and freaky floral crowns. You don’t HAVE to come in costume but there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs all weekend for the best dressed.
